How it Works: Process for Buyers of Financial Practices

Key Management Group (KMG) helps connect buyers with sellers. We recognize that a lot of factors go into making a successful match for both parties. Important considerations include: compatibility, price and terms of the deal, timing, client satisfaction and retention, location, staff capacity and more.



How To Become a Buyer:

To ensure a successful deal, the needs of both the buyer AND the seller must be met - with both parties agreeing to a deal that is mutually beneficial. Below outlines the process for buyers.

Register a Profile

Those interested in learning about buying opportunities should register on the system. They will be issued login credentials that enable them to search through practices for sale in their firm and other independent firms for potential matches.

Publishing an Elite Buyer Profile will allow you to provide more details about yourself to a potential seller for consideration.

Express Interest

After reviewing the practices for sale, if a practice is of interest to the user, they can notify KMG and the seller of their interest through the system by clicking on the "Express Interest" button prior to the deadline. This will allow the seller to review their information and Elite Profile, if completed, to consider the candidate for the bidding process.

Receive Invitation to Bid

KMG will work with the seller to review the profiles of those who have expressed interest in the practice. To be considered as a bidder - you MUST have an Elite Buyer Profile. Those who appear to be a good candidates will receive an invitation to bid on the practice.

Those who were not selected for bidding will be notified by email.

Submit Bid

For those who were invited to bid, they will have the option of submitting an offer on the practice by a specified deadline. The seller will specify what items must be included in the offer - such as source of financing, bid amount, and other terms and conditions.

Offers are always confidential and will only be viewable by KMG and the seller. Other bidders will not be able to see a bid that you submit.

Interviews

Prospects Interviewed

Our team will work with the seller to identify top candidates and schedule individual interviews with each party.

These interviews provide opportunities for the prospective buyers to learn more about the sellers practice and for both sides to determine if they are a good match. The interviews are led by our transition professionals who guide a deeply informative and meaningful conversation.

Finalists are Notified

KMG and the seller will review all submitted bids and one or more bids will be selected as finalists.

From this point, most interaction between the seller and potential buyers(s) will be handled through KMG via phone calls and meetings to work out the details and conduct due diligence and further negotiations.
